Collora Attorneys Volunteer for Discovering Justice's Student Mock Trial Program

Collora LLP attorneys are thrilled to be part of the Discovering Justice Mock Trial event. Collora attorney Lauren Graber truly enjoyed volunteering her time to teach an afterschool mock trial program to students from the Sarah Greenwood K-8 school.  On December 14th, the group did a superb job performing their mock trial before The Honorable Judith G. Dein. In addition to Lauren Graber, other Collora attorneys and staff involved in the program were Alex Watson, Maria Durant, Eve Slattery and Sandie Thompson. These dedicated volunteers acted as mentors and/or witnesses in the trial.

The Mock Trial Program was an 11-week afterschool experiential learning program during which middle school students become trial lawyers. With the support of volunteer attorneys like our Collora team, students tackled age-appropriate legal issues, engaged in legal analysis, and ultimately tried cases in real courtrooms before federal or state judges and juries made up of community members.

Collora is a long-time supporter of Discovering Justice, which offers innovative in-school, after-school and courthouse field trip programs that teach elementary and middle school students about the justice system, the role of law in a democratic society and the fundamental importance of good citizenship.
